Marie Davidson releases "Working Class Woman (Instrumentals)”, a complete instrumental edition of her recent critically acclaimed album. Building on the dancefloor-minded trajectory charted by her previous record "Adieux Au Dancefloor” [Cititrax / Minimal Wave], she mines the same influences, from Italo Disco, to proto-industrial and electro, but leadens them with a gut-punching weight, making for a record that’s more visceral than any she’s released before.
The album has drawn high praise from the likes of The Guardian ("one of the biggest pleasures in contemporary electronic music”), Pitchfork ("a record slated in a milieu of chaos, loftiness, and beauty”), Resident Advisor ("Davidson's catchiest material to date”), as well as the New York Times, FADER, NME and many more. With radio support across Radio 1, 6 Music, Rinse FM, NTS and Radio X, plus love from peers Nina Kraviz, Sasha, Mano Le Tough, Anastasia Kristensen, Project Pablo, Jessy Lanza, Objekt, Medlar, Avalon Emerson, Hunee, Courtesy, Call Super, Optimo, Jennifer Cardini, Job Jobse, Tensnake and Axel Boman.
The record is informed by a career which has spanned an ambient-influenced album as Les Momies De Palerme for Montreal’s Constellation label (home to Godspeed! You Black Emperor); her synth-disco styled duo DKMD with David Kristian; and Essaie Pas, signed to DFA, and with whom she’s shaped minimal synth and "cyberpunk coldwave” (The Guardian) sounds into a fresh mould, in partnership with husband and collaborator Pierre Guerineau.

Marie Davidson's Un Autre Voyage is my next step down a newly built appreciation for Synthwave. This is music for a dark night drive - shady and foreboding - it raises the hairs, tightens the grip, and invades your space. Christopher Moklebust
